Hello, my name is Makayla and I am 15 years old. I live on the best island in the middle of the Pacific, Kauai. This summer I am going to be attending the National Student Leadership Conference for Medicine and Health. At this conference I will be able to learn about the medical field by participating in hands on projects, attending sessions with speakers that work in the medical field, as well as work with my peers to learn more about myself and how to become a leader. I am very excited to go and experience this conference because it is going to help me in my future. Currently I am not sure what I want to go to college for or what I want to do with my life. I really love science as well as helping people and think that I would be a great fit for the medical field. I am going on this trip to discover fields of medicine that I have never even heard of and to see what one I might be interested in. On this trip I hope figure out what career is a fit for me as well as grow as a person.
